The accolade was awarded by Business Initiative Directors in Geneva, Switzerland and was received on the deputy minister’s behalf by his daughter Tina Georgias.
Sen Georgias did not attend the function although he was removed from the European Union illegal sanctions list early this year.
In a speech read on his behalf by Tina, Sen Georgias said Trinity Engineering, like many businesses in the industrial and manufacturing sector in Zimbabwe would have closed owing to the EU embargo on Zimbabwe.
The firm, he said, had remained afloat because of its resilience in the wake of the sanctions.
Sen Georgias chronicled the circumstances surrounding the imposition of sanctions against Zimbabwe saying they were a punitive measure instigated by Britain and the United States after Harare embarked on a land reform programme.
He further explained how the United States and Britain have in the past used bullying tactics to come out of the Great Depression in the 1930s.
