Trio sought over city murder

Police have initiated a manhunt for three living on the streets believed to be involved in the murder of a 24-year-old man, Kivo Muzari, following a robbery in Harare’s Central Business District (CBD).

One suspect, identified as Godknows Chataika, has been arrested.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the incident occurred at the corner of Kwame Nkrumah Avenue and Chinhoyi Street on Wednesday.

Chataika allegedly snatched Muzari’s cellphone and pushed him, causing Muzari to fall and sustain a fatal head injury. The police are appealing for information regarding the two remaining suspects, known only as Witty, Maken or Kedha.

In a separate incident, the body of an unidentified male was discovered floating in a stream in Budiriro on Tuesday this week.  It was sent to a local hospital for a post-mortem .

Comm  Nyathi has urged the public to assist in identifying the deceased, who was found with bruises on his back and thighs. He was wearing blue jeans, a black T-shirt, white socks and white sneakers.
