Trip to Mashwede turns into a horror show for driver

A 38-year-old man has landed in the dock to answer charges of car jacking.

Alois Ronjezani was denied bail when he appeared before Harare Magistrate, Dennis Mangosi, and was remanded to November 11.

He has been advised to approach the High Court for bail application.

Ronjezani is denying the charges.

It is the State’s case that on October 14, around 11pm, Ronjezani and three accomplices hired the complainant, who was driving a Toyota Sienta, to accompany them to Mashwede Complex from Kuwadzana.

The court heard that along the way, the complainant slowed down trying to negotiate some potholes.

Ronjezani and his accomplices took advantage, grabbed the complainant from behind and pulled him to the rear passenger’s seat.

By this point, the other accomplice was behind the wheel.

It is alleged that the gang assaulted the complainant with clenched fits and then dumped him on the side of the road.

The car was later found dumped.
