Triplets bring joy and challenges for Bulawayo couple

It’s a mix of joy and anxiety for 51-year-old Oliver Tigoni and his 36-year-old wife, Tenicca Mudenda, from New Magwegwe, after the couple welcomed a set of triplets at Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo.

The arrival of the three babies has brought their total number of children to eight — a blessing that has filled their hearts with gratitude, but also left them struggling to cope with new financial and domestic demands.

Mr Tigoni said while they were thankful for the safe delivery, the reality of providing for a much larger family has become a daily challenge.

“I am thankful to God for blessing us with triplets at my age, but it comes with great responsibility,” he said.

He appealed to well-wishers and the broader Zimbabwean community for assistance with essential items for the newborns.

“We are struggling to provide for our family, and we kindly ask for any help that people can offer — whether it’s clothes for the babies, food, or even a job to help me support my family,” he said.

The family’s living conditions have become increasingly difficult, as their small home no longer accommodates their growing household.

As the Tigoni family embraces their new blessings, they remain hopeful that the kindness of fellow Zimbabweans will help them navigate the challenges of raising triplets.
