Tripple B players form bulk of Mat South team

The Beitbridge team had eight players Edson Chirozva, Gift Sithole, Davison Mabidi, Tonderai Ngwari, national Under-20 trialist Tichaona Chauke, Edward Mutapure, Presly Suka and Blessing Muchekanyaza selected for the provisional team during trials held at Phelandaba Stadium on Saturday.

Embakwe High School’s Admire Nkomo made it into the team with other players coming from Gwanda High School and Manama provided Ntando Mpofu.

Nkosilathi Ncube, the Zifa Matabeleland South Province chairman said the National Youth Games team would go into camp today.

“There are other players who could not make it for today’s (Saturday) selection because they are playing for their Division One Soccer League clubs.

“We will have a training camp from Tuesday and by the end of the week the coaches will announce the final squad,” Ncube said.

Menard Sibanda of Gwanda is the head coach and will be assisted by Tripple B Academy gaffer Shepherd Kanyangu.
