Tshintsha Magiya, as the border town outfit are affectionately known, have never dropped points since their goalless draw against neighbours FC Strikers in Week Four of the season fixtures on 13 May.
The students who are languishing in the relegation zone have won only once in 11 games and last week they shared the spoils with draw specialists, New Zimsteel, in a one-all draw.
Tripple B coach, Friday Phiri, however was cautious ahead of the tie and said struggling teams have a tendency of upping their game against big teams.
“It is going to be a tough match because MSU have been struggling of late and for them playing against us is a motivation.
“They are playing at home and would want to become the first team to beat us, so we will approach the match with caution,” said Phiri who shared the same sentiments with club president, Eddie Kanyangu.
A win against the Gweru side will maintain or increase the gap between them and second placed Chapungu who travel to Gwanda for a date with Vumbachikwe in a battle for second spot.
Both sides have accumulated 23 points and are separated by goal difference and what makes the match more intriguing is that Waru-Waru were the first team to beat FC Strikers at home and would want to repeat the same feat against Vumbachikwe who are yet to taste defeat at Forbes and Thompson.
Tom Ruzive the Chapungu gaffer said his team was going to collect maximum points in the goldminers’ backyard while his counterpart Christopher Ndiweni said his side was not under pressure as they are not challenging for honours.
“We are not under any pressure because we are not in the promotional race and they (Chapungu) want to be promoted.
“The team is in the league to play good football and we are promising Chapungu a good match,” said the Vumbachikwe coach.
