Troubled Karoi face Banket

KAROI United’s clash with Banket United in the ZIFA Northern Region Division One encounter at Chikangwe remains doubtful as the team has not trained throughout the week.

The Karoi side, owned by Karoi Municipality, was hit by unrest as players refusing to train as they demanded their signing-on fees and allowances from Monday.

“There is tension between the players and adminstrators at Karoi which puts the Masholand West derby against Banket United under threat,” sources said. ”The team started well in this campaign but financial problems have been affecting the side and this has seen them dropping pointsof late.

“We are hopeful that they will play the game whole-heartedly, if they play, considering that this is a home game and the Karoi community have always been behind their side.”

Karoi are in fifth place largely because of their good start to the season.
