The Richard Kevin Rugube and Marjory Fadziso Mutemererwa RKR and MFM Trust on Friday donated foodstuffs to St Joseph’s House for Boys in Harare. The trust was established in remembrance of Richard Rugube, who was electrocuted while bathing at the family home four years ago.

RKR and MFM Trust chair Ms Marjorie Mutemererwa said the death of her only son made her realise the need to support orphans and widows.

“We share something in common with these boys. I am childless and most of them are parent less, so we should work together. Comforting and assisting each other in any way possible,” said Ms Mutemererwa.

Richard would have turned 21 today.

St Joseph’s House for Boys matron Mrs Tarupiwa Nhunge lauded RKR and MFM Trust for its work.

“We thank God for giving you such a heart to reach to all these kids. Yes it’s true, God took your boy but He later gave you these 52 boys who stay here and ever since you were given this task you never abandoned them” she said.

“This is not the first time this trust has visited and donated to this place, last year they were here were and they planted fruit trees,” said Mr Evas Simba, the administrator.

St Joseph’s currently houses 52 boys aged nine to 20.
