TRUST is needed for any kind of relationship to work effectively.
It (trust) is an essential component for building rapport.
Do you know that the essence of love is trust, and affection is usually stronger when we learn to trust despite the doubts we may have?
Trust allows you to be more open and giving.
If you trust your partner, you are more likely to forgive their shortcomings and behaviour that irritate you, thereby creating a strong bond.
Trust diminishes conflict in your relationship because you are more willing to overlook problems and give your partner the benefit of doubt.
As a result, you commit to finding solutions to issues affecting your relationship because you feel connected in areas that mean a lot to you.
Trust brings people close together.
A relationship filled with trust can be a great source of healing for the two parties involved, especially if this has not always been the case in previous relationships.
It is my desire to see your relationship work. Be happy!
If the issue of trust is affecting you, there are things you can do to build or restore it.
Firstly, engage in open communication if you were having challenges in this regard.
Secrecy tends to erode trust in a relationship.
When your partner is able to be transparent and allows space to talk about things that might breed mistrust, you can begin to feel more at ease and stop being unnecessarily tense and sceptical.
The more you get on the same page, the closer you become to your partner.
It is also important to address and work on mistakes if you are to build trust.
Everyone makes mistakes, but what is important is to learn and grow closer to each other after you repair whatever was damaged as a result of the mistake.
How do you make up for a mistake?
Start by acknowledging and taking responsibility.
After that, you must apologise and indicate the mistake will not be repeated.
And, make sure you mean it because once you repeat a blunder, you automatically destroy trust.
Furthermore, keep and follow through on commitments you make and make sure you always create new positive experiences together.
Listening compassionately and understanding each other is another way to build trust.
By sharing your honest thoughts, emotions, needs and requests, you create a conducive environment for a relationship to blossom.
Relationships that lack trust are toxic.
They can cause depression and nervousness, among many other psychological effects.
Always questioning if your partner is being deceitful is one clear indication that you are in an unhealthy relationship.
However, insecurity is often created by gossip or unfounded allegations, and, in most cases, it totally destroys a union.
Checking up on your partner is not bad, but it should not be overdone.
Always remember your partner has other obligations apart from attending to you.
In conclusion, let me also highlight that lack of trust — whether as a result of something that your partner once did or not — affects intimacy among couples.
