Red Cross health and social services officer Rangarirai Mahachi said the society admired Tryson’s commitment and the support he has given to Alick Macheso since he was appointed their humanitarian ambassador.
“Allow me to announce to Tryson and all his fans gathered here. As Red Cross Zimbabwe, we are pleased to tell Tryson that he is now our humanitarian youth ambassador.
“This young man grew up in a child-headed family and his commitment for the past months since we appointed Macheso as our humanitarian ambassador is not something to throw away in the tunnel.
“We are pleased to have the young artiste who is committed and willing to help the needy,” said Mahachi.
Tryson could not hide his excitement following his appointment. The youthful musician thanked Red Cross and its humanitarian ambassador Alick Macheso saying that he was willing to devote his time for a good cause.
“Can somebody tell me the meaning of this? Inga Mwari anoita minana zveshuwa (God does miracles to everyone).
“I am honoured to be part and parcel of this charity campaign and would like to extent my gratitude to the Red Cross family by saying together we can make a difference in the world.
“I am an orphan, so I know very well the challenges these kids face. My partnership with Red Cross will help me and the vulnerable groups,” said Tryson.
The deal struck between Tryson and Red Cross will see the dendera frontman being engaged in charity campaigns together alongside Macheso.
His major role will be advocating for the society’s goal of extending a helping hand to the needy and vulnerable. The appointment comes in the wake of Tryson’s latest release “Compass” which has so far received warm reception and Zimbabwe Red Cross has already given the album a nod.
