THE Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ) has deployed 50 teams across the country to intensify road safety education campaigns aimed at reducing fatal road accidents.
TSCZ managing director Munesu Munodawafa said 17 of the teams are mobile and will be actively engaging motorists along major highways and urban centres.

“We continue to call on our motoring public to always ensure they get to their destinations safely. In these campaigns, our teams will be talking to drivers, giving them advice and encouraging them to rest whenever fatigue creeps in, as well as to avoid drinking and driving,” said Mr Munodawafa.
The initiative comes amid growing concern over road traffic accidents, with authorities urging motorists to prioritise safety, adhere to traffic regulations and remain vigilant at all times.
Mr Munodawafa said the campaign is also targeting passenger transport operators, who are often involved in major accidents, emphasising the importance of responsible driving and compliance with road safety standards.
The TSCZ has over the years intensified awareness programmes, particularly during peak travel periods, in a bid to promote a culture of safety among road users and reduce loss of life on the country’s roads.
