A Tshabalala family in Bulawayo is in a state of distress as they express deep concern for the safety of their relative, Chantell Chimkoko, who has been embroiled in a contentious inheritance battle following the death of her father, John Madhla Chimkoko, in August 2022.

The dispute centers around a house inherited by Chantell, which her uncle, Zhourinhi Chimkoko, claims should rightfully belong to him.
Zhourinhi, a prominent supporter of the Zanu-PF party in the area, has reportedly made it clear that he believes he deserves to inherit the property.
“Zhourinhi has vowed to use all his connections within Zanu-PF and the police to force Chantell to relinquish the house,” revealed a family member who wished to remain anonymous.
This assertion has escalated tensions, leading to numerous attacks on Chantell by Zhourinhi and some of his allies.
Despite attempts by the extended family to mediate and resolve the situation peacefully, Zhourinhi has reportedly dismissed their interventions, stating, “I will deal with Chantell myself.”
This has left the family feeling helpless and concerned for Chantell’s well-being.
The situation took a grave turn when Chantell suddenly went missing, prompting further alarm among family members.
“We are terrified for her safety, especially given the threats Zhourinhi has made,” the family member added.
“We just want her to come home safe.”
As the community learns of the distressing circumstances surrounding Chantell’s disappearance, the Tshabalala family is calling for immediate action to ensure her safety and to address the ongoing inheritance dispute that has sparked such violence.
