Tshinga Dube guarantees project loans for Makokoba

THE Member of Parliament for Makokoba constituency Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube has offered to guarantee loans to residents from his constituency so that they can embark on various projects to improve their livelihoods.

He said this yesterday while addressing residents at McDonald Hall in Mzilikazi at a meeting with members of the Makokoba Constituency Development Association.

“It is a known fact that our industries are down and there is no employment. That, however, doesn’t mean that we are not able to get around the situation. This project caters for anyone and everyone, regardless of your political affiliation. The bank (CBZ) too doesn’t care about which party you are affiliated to, let’s work towards improving our livelihoods and desist from being beggars.

“Therefore as the chairman of this association I am urging members to approach the bank in their respective groups to access loans, so as to start working on their projects to generate income and create employment for ourselves,” he said.

Rtd Col Dube said the sole aim of the association was to improve the livelihoods of the people from his constituency by providing them with activities that will generate income.

“I stand here as your guarantor; CBZ will assist you with loans. Of course there are some processes that need to be taken for you to be eligible for a loan. As long as you are part of this association you are eligible for accessing a loan. This will assist in creating forms of employment to sustain ourselves as a constituency. Some of the members of the association have already undergone vocational training courses and have since received certificates and now need to go to the next stage. They need to apply for loans and not be dependent on other people. We don’t want lazy people who prefer to be beggars,” said Rtd Col Dube.

He also voiced his concern over “certain elements” within the constituency that sought to detract the project.

“There are detractors within the constituency, whom I will not mention. They go around questioning my decision to let anyone and everyone into the association. We are all brothers and sisters here. This is not a political party but an association that seeks to better our livelihoods,” he said.

Rtd Col Dube added that the association was open to anyone from the constituency.
