YOUTHFUL Tsholotsho FC upset their more illustrious opponents, Black Boots in a top of the log Zifa Southern Region Division One match played at Fairbridge Grounds yesterday.
A brace by the league’s top scorer, Edmore Chirambadare (21st and 90th minutes) in an evenly balanced match was enough for the visitors to see off the home side.Black Boots found the target in the 26th minute through Batinos Makwira.
Chirambadare, whose brace took his tally to 12 goals in his maiden season in the second tier league, was the toast of the day with his powerful surging runs in front.
The two sides are in with a chance to win the championship in a four race horse that includes Technosphere and Ntabazinduna.
However, it was the police force outfit that threatened to break the deadlock in the 12th minute after former Hwange, Zimbabwe Saints and Platinum midfielder, Ntokozo Tshuma waltzed his way past a cluster of defenders inside the visitor’s half and laid the ball to another former premier teammate, James “Chikopokopo” Chikwenga. Chikwenga unselfishly passed the ball to his striking partner, Simon Njeleza whose shot missed the left upright with the goal at his mercy.
