A WITCH-HUNTER got himself in trouble with the law after assaulting villagers who had refused to have their a?goblinsa exorcised.
Lazarus Siziba (ABOVE) is set to appear in court for reportedly terrorising villagers in Matopo by forcibly entering their homes to remove goblins and evil spirits.
All hell broke loose when Siziba and his colleagues stormed into Buhle Moyoas homestead claiming that she had goblins.
The home owner who would take none of these accusations tried to chase them away but to no avail.
Seething with anger, the witch-hunter and his team reportedly assaulted Moyo with logs.
Narrating her ordeal Moyo said she almost joined her ancestors as she had never been exposed to such brutality.
a?I was in the kitchen when the tsikamutandas came into my homestead unannounced. They destroyed the doors and claimed that there were goblins to be removed. Siziba told me that he could actually smell the goblins. I told them to leave my house with no success. They lifted me up and forced my head into a sack.
a?I was assaulted with logs and sjamboks while my head was inside the bag. The gang dragged me out of my homestead, blood oozing uncontrollably. Thatas when I reported the matter to the police,a? she said.
Last week Siziba came to the B-Metro offices after injivas who were tired of his antics destroyed his homestead and threatened to kill him. He vowed to wage war on the entire village.
a?Those who donat want me to exorcise goblins will be assaulted by my escorts,a? he said.
As a man of his word, Siziba dealt with Moyo but got a big surprise when the long arm of the law finally caught up with him.
Matabeleland South police spokesperson Inspector Philisani Ndebele said he could not comment on the issue as the tsikamutandas were set to appear in court.
a?Unfortunately I cannot comment on the issue now as the arrested people are set to appear in court,a? Ndebele said.
