partying.
It was little wonder that groupies were all over each other to try and get “jiggy” with the charismatic actor with their sexy moves on the dance floor.
But none of the ladies managed to lay their hands on the big screen star as bouncers were alert.
The Tsotsi film star was spotted at Chez Ntemba Night club dancing the night away spreading “mzansi flavour” to his fans just the way they liked it.
Presley, who was accompanied by bouncers to the club, really brought the spunk and “mzansi” magic on the night.
When The Herald caught up with the award-winning actor at the upmarket club, he said Harare’s nightlife felt a lot like home.
“How are you doing man. It’s crazy up in here and its almost like what we do back home (South Africa),” he said as he took a sip of his favourite drink.
When asked where his co-star Munyaradzi Chidzonga in the upcoming movie “The Gentleman” was, Presley said the “Diamond Boy” had already retired to bed.
“Well he’s tired and so he went home to catch a nap,” he said as sexy ladies mobbed him.
Presley is in Zimbabwe for two weeks in which he is shooting an upcoming action film that also stars the Diamond Boy and former-Big Brother All Star housemate Sheila Kwamboka from Kenya and Precious Makhuluma, who acted as Ntokozo in the popular soap Amakorokoza.
The film, which will be shot in both Zimbabwe and South Africa follows on the success of “Lobola”, a riveting comedy/drama flick that features the Diamond Boy.
However, in “The Gentleman” there are two feuding brothers who are brought closer by love for one another.
The Diamond boy plays the lead role in which he acts as two characters – Tawana and Takunda. The twins didn’t see eye to eye but when one of them falls on hard times they decided to put their differences aside and help each other.
The film is being co-produced by Rufaro Kaseke and Lilian Chidavaenzi while Joe Njagu is the director.
“There is going to be a lot of blood and make up will be heavy on the production set,” Kaseke said.
He said it was about time Zimbabwe makes commercial films for the region hence the inclusion of Presley as well as Sheila, who was once a contender in the Big Brother All Stars reality show.
But Presley, who was born in 1984 in the North West Province, is best known for his role in “Tsotsi” which won the Academy Award for Foreign Language Film at the 78th Academy Awards.
Although he had acted before in plays, “Tsotsi” was his first feature film.
He has recently been focusing on stage plays and more films.
His latest films include “More Than Just a Game”, “Violence” and Africa United.
He is in Harare for shooting as well as conducting film workshops since there are no films in the country.
However, the release date for “The Gentleman” is set for July 29, 2011.
The film is co-produced with a South African film company called PreDestined Pictures, which will also distribute and market the film in the region.
