Tsvangirai fails again to condemn violence

his party was ready for a violent election.
Addressing party supporters at Mbizo Stadium in Kwekwe he said: “Vakangonzwa kuti maelections vanhu veZanu-PF shave ravo rinobva rasvika, hanzi rovai vanhu veMDC. Zvino zvavarivo majority (MDC-T supporters) torohwa here neminority takangotarisa.

“Rwendo rwuno MDC hairohwe yakapeta maoko. Zvekurohwa taramba isu taramba kurohwa. Kunofanirwa kuva nesecurity of people whether uri mukapurazi or uripai, when we go to elections ndoroadmap yatiri kutsvaga iyi; constitution, referendum then tozogara pasi asi kwete gore rino, rino ratopera asi gore rinouya,” he said.

MDC-T AND VIOLENCE

He claimed violence was rampant in the Midlands Province.
Mr Tsvangirai then turned against his supporters in the province accusing them of letting down the MDC-T in the March 2008 harmonised elections.

He said the party lost 15 seats in the Midlands province due to double candidacy, adding that this should stop.
Mr Tsvangirai threatened to expel party members who would not listen to that directive, challenging them to form their own parties.
“We do not want to see the repeat of what we experienced in the last election. Two candidates! What is that?

“We lost 15 seats in this province because of double representation. Hatidi kuzviona futi. Asvotwa ngaabude anofoma yake. Vamwe vakadarowani asi nhasi vakungoti Tsvangirai, Tsvangirai wani. Ngavaite zvekuparty dzavo,” he said.

Mr Tsvangirai was referring to the MDC leadership formed after his fall-out with former secretary-general Professor Welshman Ncube on the party’s participation in the 2005 senatorial elections.
On the inclusive Government, Mr Tsvangirai, who is the Prime Minister, said the arrangement was a “mere” transition to remove President Mugabe from power.
He said the arrangement was never meant to bring joy to Zimbabweans.

“We have two years in this GNU, if there is a decision that we have taken as a party to move forward it is during the GNU.
“Vanhu vaive netariro yekuti kutambura kose kwapera vamwe vaiva netariro yekuti mabasa anenge ava jekerera.

“Haisiyo objective yatakapi-ndira muGNU. Takapindira muGNU to save the people of Zimbabwe,” Mr Tsvangirai said.
Mr Tsvangirai has failed in his current tour of provinces across Zimbabwe to unequivocally condemn violence.

He told supporters in Masvingo the MDC-T would fight their opponents in the next election.
In Chegutu last week, Mr Tsvangirai said violence was an option in regime change.
