Jah Prayzah (pictured) has released the much-awaited video album for “Tsviriyo”, that was shot at different locations across Zimbabwe.
The lanky musician who is known for his penchant for quality videos went an extra mile to shoot the video of the song “Machembere”, at his rural home in Uzumba.
“I was going according to the script, that is why I was wearing animal skins (nhembe).
‘The song has a traditional theme so I had to go into caves to come out with a masterpiece video,” he said.
So creative is Jah Prayzah that on the song “Mwanasikana”, he is seen wearing berry bottoms that were prevalent in the 1970s.
The song was shot at a growth point in Chihota.
Jah Prayzah said he was grateful to artistes who supported him when he was shooting the video of his hit song “Tsviriyo”.
“I am grateful to all the artistes I sing about on the song featured on the video. They supported me and I would like to thank them for that,” he said.
The DVD has six songs that were shot in high definition.
“When I shot the video of the song ‘Mariah’, I did not have the resources, but in this project I could foot my own expenses. I hope my fans are going to like and enjoy it, ” he said.
His video for the song “Maria” was voted the best on ZBCTV’s “Shutdown Chart Show”.
“Tsviriyo”, the song that has been a hit on shows, is about joy, happiness and love just like the songs “Gochi Gochi”, “Sori Mama” and “Sungano”.
Jah Prayzah has proved to be one of the hottest artistes in recent times with four albums under his belt.
His third album, “Ngwarira Kuparara”, catapulted him to stardom and won him awards.
“Chirangano Cherudo” was voted the most popular song while the partying anthem “Gochi Gochi” came second on Radio Zimbabwe Top 50, 2012 competition.
“It’s always good to see that out of a bad thing can a good one. Piracy has really helped many artistes to market their music.
“It has also helped me as a musician. However, it (piracy) is now threatening the survival of record companies because artistes now depend on concerts and shows and not sales,” he said.
He has over 90 singles, which have reached out to fans through piracy.
