HIGHLANDERS players yesterday received a timely morale boost after Teendy Three Investments donated US$3 000 to the squad, a gesture that comes as the Bulawayo football giants continue to grapple with financial challenges.
The donation, presented to the players this week, is expected to motivate the squad as they seek to improve their performances in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
Bosso are away to CAPS United this weekend.
Highlanders have endured a difficult period off the field due to financial constraints, making the contribution particularly significant.
The club’s acting chairman, Kindman Ndlovu, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Tendy Three Investments, saying the donation had arrived at a crucial time for the institution.
“We are sincerely grateful to Trendy Three Investments for this generous donation to our players. The support comes at a time when the club is facing financial challenges, and it will go a long way in motivating the team. It is encouraging to know that there are companies willing to stand with Highlanders during difficult times,” said Ndlovu.
He added that partnerships between football clubs and the corporate sector are vital for the sustainability of the game in Zimbabwe.
“We hope this gesture inspires other corporates to come on board and support Highlanders as well as Zimbabwean football in general. Football cannot thrive without the backing of the business community, and every contribution makes a difference,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of Tendy Three Investments, company representative Bongani Nyathi said the organisation believed in giving back to the community through sport and recognised Highlanders’ rich history and contribution to Zimbabwean football.
“Highlanders is one of the biggest football clubs in the country, with a proud history and a passionate fan base. As Tendy Three Investments, we felt it was important to encourage the players during this challenging period. We hope this donation inspires them to remain focused, work hard and continue giving their best on the field,” said Tshabangu.
He said the company viewed sport as a powerful tool for bringing communities together and pledged to continue supporting initiatives that positively impact society.
