adminAyanda Mpama will be hosting the television show Our Perfect Wedding for the last time next week. Tumi Morake will return to the screens in her place. Mpama only hosted the show for 13 episodes, and it seems loyal viewers of Our Perfect Wedding were unimpressed by her style. It got so bad that the producers had to release her, and recall the previous host, Morake, to the Sunday evening show, according to insiders.
Speaking to Sowetan yesterday Mpama said she did not take the harsh criticism and comparison to previous hosts too personal because the producers had forewarned her about it.
“My time has ended, I was blessed to be on that show because I got to learn so many things about other people’s cultures and also about myself,” she said.
“The producers had told me before hand that I was going to be compared to the other hosts because it always happens.
“But I think it was worse with me, I don’t know why,” Mpama said.
Mpama said social media was unforgiving in lashing out their opinion. “I took it as it came. The criticism would be very bad while the show is on at half-past seven but as soon as Date My Family comes on at eight, they’ve moved on.”— Sowetan.
