Renowned actor Cliff Taruvinga known as Tonde in the Tunga drama series released his first book ‘7 things you must remember when praying’ which encourages readers to develop a strong relationship with God through prayer.
The book is centered on prayer and is guided by seven steps that assist a believer in understanding what prayer is and how to develop a strong relationship with God.
In an interview, the author expressed satisfaction over how the book has been received so far.
He said he had pre-orders before the publication came out.
“Being the author I would be biased but the reception that this book got was amazing. I also got a review from a reader citing areas that I need to polish,” he said.
The author who started acting in 2015 said despite having been in front of the camera, he does not feel strongly drawn to acting.
“If an opportunity presents itself for me to be in front of the camera, it has to be a great production, otherwise I am not going back to acting,” he said.
“I am more of a behind-the-scenes kind of person. I prefer working behind the camera, rather than in front of it.”
However, Taruvinga believes that doing skits have earned him a decent following on social media.
The artist also shared his opinion on the current state of affairs for authors and the coverage they get.
“I do not think enough is being done by writers, publishers and media houses. It takes all of us to bring our work to fruition,” he said.
“If as writers we are not approaching publications for the recognition of our work and they are also not approaching us to find out what we are working on then the buck stops with all of us,” he said.
“Let us develop a strategy to connect and work together as writers.”
