A TURKISH agro-processing and manufacturing company specialising in plant equipment and agricultural machinery, Tugra Makina, is exploring investment opportunities in Zimbabwe.
The company’s interest in the country was sparked during the recently held Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) 2025, where they met with government officials, local farmers and potential partners.
Tugra Makina representative, Mr Tanaka Matangandebvu, said the flagship premier trade showcase gave them an opportunity to identify investment opportunities.
“We had a wonderful time at the ZITF 2025 and the Diplomat Forum meeting. We found good opportunities for investment and believe there’s a healthy relationship between Zimbabwe and Turkey, with several companies already importing goods from Turkey and vice versa,” he said.
He said their company was impressed by Zimbabwe’s potential for agricultural growth and sees an opportunity to contribute to the sector’s development.
Mr Matangandebvu said their agricultural plants and machinery would create employment for people and improve agricultural output in Zimbabwe.
“The agricultural sector is crucial to Zimbabwe’s economy and as Tugra Makina we believe that mechanisation is essential for transforming local farmers and the economy. We strongly believe that advanced and mechanised agriculture will transform the country’s economic development,” he added.
To attract more Turkish investors, he said Zimbabwe could make headway by improving its economic policies, particularly in the banking sector, to create a more favourable investment climate.
