The Bulawayo side has qualified for the final which is set for next Saturday and by virtue of ending on top of the group, the final will be played at Queens Sports Club.
Tuskers’ captain Gavin Ewing said they were happy that the final would be played in Bulawayo and they were taking today’s game seriously.
“Like I said last week, what we want is a home final and that requires us to win our matches. It has been a busy week for us as we beat Southern Rocks and went on to record a good victory against Eagles. Obviously we want to maintain that good run and collect maximum points against Rhinos.
“It will be tough in Kwekwe but we are looking forward to ending on a high so that we go into the final with our heads held up,” said Ewing.
The Bulawayo cricket team beat Southern Rocks by five wickets in a Pro-50 One-Day match last weekend with top order batsman Brian Chari top scoring for Tuskers with 54 runs.
Southern Rocks had batted first and were bowled out for 131 runs in 36 overs. Tuskers made 136 runs in 27.4 overs to surpass Rocks’ target.
In a midweek played at Queens Sports Club against Eagles, Tuskers reigned supreme winning the game by seven wickets with 104 balls remaining.
Tuskers got a bonus point for their victory over Eagles.
Against Rocks, Chari and skipper Ewingare expected to lead Tuskers’ batting attack in the absence of Terrence Duffin who might be rested for the final.
Graig Ervine, Sean Williams, Charles and Keith Dabengwa are some of the hard-hitters in Tuskers’ line-up.
National team place bowler Christopher Mpofu is expected to lead the bowling attack which has Glen Querl, Njabulo Ncube, John Nyumbu, Ewing, Keegan Meth and Dabengwa.
