THE 2022/23 Logan Cup match between Tuskers and Southern Rocks at Queens Sports Club is headed for a final day thriller after it ended with the home side batting on 109-2 needing 313 runs for the win.
Rocks declared their second innings on 295-8 with a lead of 421 runs leaving Tuskers with a huge task. The defending champions however showed signs of a fightback in a match where they have been on the back foot.
Hamidullah Qadri took a second innings five wicket haul for Tuskers finishing with figures of 5/92 in 27 overs as the home side kept their opponents within a chaseable total.

Three Rocks players scored half centuries with the leading run getter being Richmond Mutumbami on 71 runs followed by Ben Curran with 70 runs and William Mashinge contributed 64 runs.
Chasing a huge total, Tanunurwa Makoni provided a good start for Tuskers scoring 59 runs before he departed. At stumps, Awad Naqvi and Shumba were in the middle, batting on 30 and seven runs respectively.
Meanwhile in the encounter between Mega Market Mountaineers and Rhinos, the former ended day three on 138-0, trailing by 90 runs after Rhinos finished with a first innings score of 513. Joylord Gumbie and Ben Compton in the middle for Mountaineers were on 79 and 51 runs respectively in a match that looks headed for a draw on the final day.
