ZRP FC have appointed Arthur Tutani as their head coach to guide the club in their quest for success in the ZIFA Northern Region Division One soccer league this season.Tutani takes over from Thulani Sibanda, who left the club at the end of the season last year.

Tutani will be assisted by Eleck Kambale, the former Sporting Manhenga coach, and the two are expected to start work today.

ZRP FC vice-secretary Thomas Mangwiro confirmed the developments yesterday.

“We have appointed Arthur Tutani and he will be assisted by Eleck Kambale. He (Kambale) is actually a police officer so Tutani will be assisted by someone from inside.

“They are starting work tomorrow (today), that is when we are going to introduce them to the players. We can’t really say we have set targets for them but just like any other team we are looking at getting back into the Premiership.

“Their task will be to assemble a strong team to fight for the championship but we are not saying they should win at all cost. They still have to look for players and be able to identify who can do the job,” Mangwiro said.

Mangwiro said the coaches’ immediate task was to identify the players they would need for the task at hand.

“Since there isn’t much time left I think by the end of next week we would have been able to identify the players we want.  These coaches are not new to the Northern Region League so they know what they want. The only problem we may have is that it’s still off-season and the players may have other options.

“In as far as the Northern Region (League) is concerned there are a lot of experienced coaches so we cannot really say we have an added advantage but I think the combination of Arthur and Kambale will give us something to smile about,” said Mangwiro.
