CHITUNGWIZA Central Hospital has announced it will conduct a pauper’s burial for 25 unclaimed bodies that have been held in its mortuary for over a year.

The hospital has asked for relatives of the deceased persons to come forward and claim their bodies.

At least, 17 of the bodies have not been identified.

The hospital has given a 21-day window for the bodies to be claimed and said that if they remain unclaimed, there will be a pauper’s burial.

Chitungwiza Central Hospital mortuary supervisor, Paradzai Mayinga, encouraged people with missing family members or relatives to check with the hospital.

“If there are people who have a missing person, they can come to the hospital and check the bodies at the mortuary,” he said.
