TWO Bulawayo schools, Centenary Primary School and Pumula High School, are today set to receive the prestigious Secretary’s Merit Award in recognition of their outstanding academic and institutional performance.

The award presentation ceremony will be held at Centenary Primary School in Killarney suburb and will be officiated by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Mr Moses Mhike.

The Secretary’s Merit Awards are presented annually to schools that excel in various areas of education, including academic achievement, administration and overall performance.

Chief Director for Provincial Educational Services in Bulawayo Mr Bernard Mazambani said the awards serve to recognise and celebrate excellence in the education sector.

“The Secretary’s Merit Awards are an annual event that recognises outstanding performances by both primary and secondary schools,” he said.
The recognition of Centenary Primary School and Pumula High School highlights Bulawayo’s continued contribution to educational excellence and the development of quality learning institutions.

Education stakeholders are expected to attend the ceremony, which will celebrate the achievements of the two schools and encourage the pursuit of excellence across the country’s education sector.
