Two crazed dogs kill neighbour’s 31 chicken

Court Reporter
TWO crazed dogs broke into a neighbour’s fowl run and mindlessly killed 31 chickens. Angel Netha, of Bulawayo’s Bellevue suburb, was hoping to sell the chickens during the Christmas period but woke up to a bloodbath on December 21, the Bulawayo Magistrates’ Court heard.

Neighbour, James Ndoro, is charged with negligently causing damage to property after his dog ran wild. Another neighbour, only identified as Stoboli, had charges withdrawn before plea after he agreed to compensate Netha.

His dog had also been involved in the carnage. Bulawayo magistrate Crispen Mberewere heard how the two dogs went berserk, killing the chickens for fun and leaving Ndoro $465 worse off. Netha, of Churchill Road, had previously complained to her neighbours after their dogs strayed from Balfour Drive into her property.

Ndoro was remanded out of custody to January 14 on free bail.
