The woman at the centre of the wrangle, Dadirai Mutete, had brought her ex-husband, David Tafirenyika, for custody of the boy.
Mutete told the court that she met Tafirenyika while she was already pregnant.
“I was married to Matthew Tswatswa and we had a misunderstanding while I was pregnant.
“We separated and that’s when I met Tafirenyika and eloped to him.
“We stayed together for two years and the baby was born while I was staying with him.
“The baby regards him as father,” she told the court.
Mutete told the court that she left Tafirenyika and went back to Tswatswa because he was not looking after her well.
Tswatswa accepted her back and they have another baby together.
Tafirenyika interjected and told the court that Mutete was not pregnant when he met her.
“She was not pregnant when I met her and she told me later after we had stayed together that she had missed her periods. The child is in my custody after she left for her former husband.
“All baby cards bear my name and I even named the child after my elder brother.
“How can she come back into my life now claiming that my four-year-old child belongs to Tswatswa, disrupting my life and confusing me,” said Tafirenyika. Mr Serima called in Tswatswa and he told the court that he wants his child back.
“Your Worship, the child resembles me and he even looks like the child I now have with Mutete.
“He should give me my blood because my wife stole my baby from me and sold him to Tafirenyika,” he said.
Mr Serima will make a ruling on the matter on Friday.
In the past there have been several cases of men denying paternity of the children women claim to be theirs.
