A HARARE businessman was hit and killed by a car in EXACTLY the same circumstances, and on EXACTLY the same day of the week and roughly the same time of the day, as his business partner, who died two months ago.
Innocent Murauro, also known as Shumba or Fatherz, died on Saturday, May 30, after he was hit by a car in the Avenues area of the capital.
Minutes earlier, Murauro had been watching the UEFA Champions League final between Arsenal and PSG at a bar in the Avenues area, which is close to his offices.
He left the bar at half-time, telling his friends he wanted to collect his car from his office and park it near the bar. He said he would be back soon to watch the remainder of the game.
But, he never made it back.
Murauro was a football fan and on his Facebook page he said his other hobby was watching tennis.
He used to be a forex dealer at Roadport before he opened an office in the Avenues area where he was now running his various business projects from.
On Saturday, his sister Precious Gamu Murauro, posted a message on Facebook and attached a video of the two dancing.
She also attached a video of the latter’s coffin.
She described Murauro as her “deputy parent.”
She posted:
“My dearest big brother(deputy parent), I still can’t believe you were taken from us so suddenly.
“You were my shield, my guide, and my built-in best friend.
“The suddenness of your accident leaves an unbearable void in my heart.
“Though your life ended far too soon in such a tragic way, your spirit will always guide me.
“I will cherish every laugh, piece of advice, and memory we shared.
“I miss your check-ins, your humour, and your protective presence.
“I take comfort in knowing our bond cannot be severed, even by death.
“Watch over us, big brother. Rest in eternal peace; you will always be a part of me. I love you so much. RIP Shumba.”

The administrators who run the Mfombi Konnect Facebook page also posted about Murauro’s death.
“Innocent Murauro was hit by a car. He was first hit by a Benz which then dragged him under the car for about 30 metres.
“When the car stopped, he was pulled to the other side of the road.
“After that, he was hit again by another Honda Fit which did not stop.”
Others claim he was first hit by a car, on the corner of Sixth Avenue and Nelson Mandela Way, before two other cars, including a kombi, rolled over him.
His death is virtually a carbon copy of how his friend and business partner, Tendai Njiva, died in Harare two months ago.
They were both hit by a number of cars, they were both hit on a Saturday night and they were both going to collect cars when tragedy struck.
Just like Murauro, Njiva was also a passionate football fan and shared a number of his images, in the company of Simba Bhora officials, before his tragic death.
Njiva died on Saturday, March 14.
He was crossing Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa Road, on the edges of the Eastlea neighbourhood in Harare, when he was hit by a car.
Two other cars also rolled over his body.
“It’s so heart-breaking brother, we are lost for words, how can you explain what has just happened to these two young men?” a colleague of the duo told H-Metro.
“Imagine, the pain of losing Tindo in such tragic circumstances had not yet healed and we are hit by Shumba’s death, in exactly the same circumstances as Tindo, it’s hard to take mukoma.
“How do you explain this?
“Imagine Shumba even gave a speech when we buried Tindo not knowing that in just two months’ time he was also going to die in similar circumstances.
“But what can we do? We just leave this in the hands of God but parwadza mukoma, these guys were young and they had all their life ahead of them.”
