Two Hurungwe men in bid to raid silo

facing charges of unlawful entry into a silo to steal grain.

Karoi magistrate Mr Obedience Matare last Friday remanded Phedeous Verevedze (32), a GMB worker and Patrick Mandere (29) of Chabume Village under Chief Nematombo to August 24 on US$50 bail each.

The court heard that around 1am on August 11 this year, the two allegedly broke into the GMB depot to steal grain.
Security guards arrested Mandere who had two empty grain bags while Verevedze escaped.

Mandere was taken to Magunje Police Station where Verevedze was also taken after his arrest later the same day.
Mr Benjamin Negato prosecuted.
