A NATIONAL Prosecuting Authority employee lost his vehicle to car thieves on Friday.

Ephraim Zinyandu (44), of Eyestone Farm in Waterfalls, was reported to have parked his Toyota Bubble at his house before retiring to bed at around 8pm.

His place has no fence or a precast wall.

The following day at around 3.30am, Ephraim was awoken by the noise of a car engine running and he went outside to check.

He saw his car being driven away and he alerted his neighbours before reporting to the Waterfalls Police Station.

In another reported case, a Pizza Hut general manager, Phillip Paradzai Chitsaka (30) of Zengeza lost his Toyota Vitz he had parked along Jason Moyo Avenue in the Central Business District.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said investigations are in progress.

“Police are investigating theft of motor vehicles reported on Friday and Saturday respectively,” said Insp Chakanza.

“On Saturday at 2pm, the complainant parked his vehicle, closed and locked the doors and windows, and went to Joina City Mall where he works.

“After a period of almost eight hours had lapsed, the complainant returned to where he had parked his vehicle only to discover that it was missing despite him being in possession of his car keys,” said Insp Chakanza.
