TWO Cranborne women were on Friday arrested for duping a desperate home seeker of his money.

Matilda Mavhangira, 33, and Linnet Manomano, 30, stand accused of luring Timothy Dukuni, 45, from Mt Pleasant into paying US$1 000 promising him accommodation.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said the two were detained at Braeside Police Station.

“Circumstances are that the two misrepresented themselves as landlords looking for a tenant to rent their house.

“The two defrauded the complainant of cash amounting to US$1 000 and never provided him the service,” said Insp Chakanza.
