FOR two weeks, he was fighting for his life in hospital.
Described by his headmaster as one of the best teachers at Tynwald High School, Chamunorwa Rukwanha was well liked by the learners.
However, yesterday, he lost the biggest battle of his life at the Avenues Clinic.
He becomes the SEVENTH victim of the accident which claimed the lives of six pupils along Nyanga Road.
Geography and Sociology teacher, Rukwanha, had been battling for his life for the past two weeks.
He sustained head injuries when the school bus overturned after the driver lost control.
Tynwald High School headmaster, Kennias Matimba, confirmed Rukwanha’s death.
“The school has been robbed of another life again,” said Matimba.
“The death came after all admitted children, and staff members, had been discharged from hospital.
“One of the teachers was discharged and is now using a wheelchair.
“Mr Rukwanha was among the best teachers we have and was so jovial and most students liked him,” said Matimba.
A number of Tynwald High School students visited the late Rukwanha in hospital.
Some of his students are expected to sit for the Geography exam today.
Matimba told H-Metro the police also talked to bus driver, Chamunorwa Machimbidzofa.
“Our driver Chamunorwa was picked up by police to give his statement in connection with the accident,” he said.
He said mourners are gathered at Rukwanha’s Mabelreign residence.
