Tyrese Gibson cleared of child abuse charges

Tyrese Gibson has thanked wife Samantha Lee Gibson for her support during his court battle with ex-wife Norma Mitchell Gibson over custody of their daughter, Shayla (10).

The 38-year-old actor posted a loving message to Samantha on Instagram Saturday after the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services closed its investigation into Tyrese’s alleged beating of Shayla and revealed it would not seek criminal charges against the actor. And he added, among the hashtags, ‘Be still and know that ! am God Psalms 46:10.’

Tyrese took to Instagram on Wednesday, breaking down in tears over his custody battle in a public show of emotion as he pleaded: “Don’t take my baby please, don’t take my baby.

“When your 1st charge get dropped your wife’s mind will finally REST!!!!!’ the star of the Fast & Furious franchise wrote, captioning a photo of Samantha Lee asleep in bed.

“This is all I got, this is all I got, this is all I got. Don’t take my baby, OK?’

“I’ve been away from my baby for two months. I just want my baby and no one’s listening because no one is in the court room.”

Tyrese later spoke out about his impassioned video, defending his erratic behavior as that of a “desperate father fighting for his child”, and explaining his anger over comments made about Fast & Furious co-star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

He had previously threatened to withdraw from the Fast & Furious 9 if Dwayne remained involved.

“Angry ex-wife”

Speaking out over reports his friends “‘are worried about his erratic behaviour”, Tyrese defended his actions, opening up about his frustration over the court battle with his ex-wife Norma.

Denying allegations he physically abused his daughter, the “Baby Boy” actor claimed that his ex was “making up the story”, telling TMZ his behaviour is “that of a desperate father who has been bled dry by an angry ex-wife”.

And addressing the comments he made about the Rock, the father claimed his former co-star was delaying production on the ninth instalment of the franchise by a year, as he is currently filming a Fast & Furious spin-off.

The delay is further aggravating his financial woes, made worse by his legal bills amid claims Tyrese has been made “virtually unemployable” following his ex’s claims.

The Los Angeles native continued on about the legal fees he’s racked up in the custody battle, saying: “I’m at $ And not mincing his words, he voices his disappointment over the alleged lack of support from some of his well-heeled ‘millionaire’ and ‘billionaire’ friends asking, ‘I’ve been there for you, why aren’t you there for me?”‘

A source close to his ex-wife told the New York Post that “the video speaks for itself”, adding: “He is nuts.”
