Tytan and Ammara Brown’s Mukoko music video which has been well received by local audiences makes its debut on DStv Southern African channel – Zambezi Magic on Saturday.
The video which ignited a lot of interest since its release last week, attracting over 100,000 views on video sharing site – YouTube will premiere on the popular Zim Top 10 chart show at 7PM on DStv channel 160.
It will now compete against Soul Jah Love’s – Dai Hupenyu Hwaitengwa, Seh Calaz’ – Bad Publicity, Tocky Vibes – Anakirwa, Hope Masike’s – Ndinewe, Kazz’ – She’s worth it and TeeMak’s – Heaven & Hell among other videos. Interestingly, the song produced by UK-based producer, Jusa Dementor, will also compete against Dementor’s – Ndakubikira which was number two on last week’s chart show.
MultiChoice Zimbabwe publicity and public relations manager, Liz Dziva said: “The music video will likely pick up an even bigger following from existing and new fans as the chart show is broadcast to a larger African audience.”
“We’re always excited when a Zimbabwean performer gets airplay of any kind and the reaction to Mukoko has been huge and positive, so its appearance on Zim Top Ten will take it to yet a new level. As one of DStv’s most popular channels, Zambezi Magic is an ideal showcase for local talent, and they don’t get more talented than Tytan and Ammara Brown, a former Idols Africa finalist.”
Most top local artistes including Cynthia Mare, Jah Prayzah, Sulumani Chimbetu and Winky D have failed to make a mark on DStv platforms. Ammara is not a new face there as she featured on Botswana rapper – Zeus’ song – Passport Stamps which was heavily rotated on international music platforms such as Channel O and MTV Base. Most M-Net channels are always open to her content mainly because she made top five at the Idols East Africa contest in which another Zimbabwean, Eric Moyo won.
