TENNIS Zimbabwe have parted ways with manager Cliff Nhokwara, who was part of the association for over a decade.
In a notice published in The Herald yesterday, TZ said Nhokwara is no longer an employee of the association.
“Tennis Zimbabwe wishes to advise its clients, stakeholders and the general public that Mr Cliff Nhokwara is no longer an employee of the association and as such does not represent Tennis Zimbabwe anymore,” read the notice.
A TZ official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the association is going through restructuring and saw it fit to part ways with Nhokwara.
“The organisation is going through some restructuring and a change in strategic focus and so forth. So what just happened was, the board, the TZ board just found it fit to find new brains with new energy and new ideas.
“So for now his contract, I mean we decided to part ways with the board and that’s where it stands at the moment. So the vacancy has been announced, if he is willing and if he can qualify under the new terms surely I think he will also be considered but I think that’s it.
“He served well, he has done well for tennis and Tennis Zimbabwe is so grateful for his work,” said the official.
