THE United Family International Church (UFIC) Choir has released a new gospel single, ‘Ndiri Mukundi’, a song carrying a powerful message of hope, victory and resilience for Christians facing life’s challenges.
Speaking in an interview, UFIC Family music director and Psalmist Hubert Chigumira said the song was inspired by the church’s commitment to continuously produce music that uplifts and transforms lives.
“The release of ‘Ndiri Mukundi’ is driven by Family Music’s passion to keep producing new songs. It also reflects the vision of our father, Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa, who has always encouraged the continuous production of gospel music,” said Chigumira.
He said the inspiration behind the song came from Prophet Makandiwa’s teachings, particularly his message that believers are victorious through Jesus Christ.
“The song reminds Christians that despite social, economic, physical, emotional or spiritual challenges, they are victors. Through Jesus, we overcome every situation we encounter in life,” he said. The song was composed by Eugene Lingi, who revealed that the idea came after meditating on one of Prophet Makandiwa’s sermons about believers being conquerors.
“I was inspired by one of the sermons where Prophet Makandiwa spoke about people being conquerors. As I reflected on that message, I began writing the song,” said Lingi.
According to Lingi the composition process was completed within a short period before being reviewed by the choir leadership.
Musically, ‘Ndiri Mukundi’ blends traditional Zimbabwean sounds with the popular South African Kagamba rhythm, giving it a vibrant contemporary gospel feel.
The song was sang by Aripheleng Kwela, with vocal direction by Caution Katsuwa, while renowned producer Wayne Malomo, popularly known as Waynebeats, handled the production.
Chigumira said the UFIC Choir has grown significantly since its formation in 2009, evolving from a small church choir into a gospel music powerhouse with about 2,000 members across Zimbabwe. “We have grown in both numbers and the quality of music we produce. Our songwriting has also improved tremendously as we continue feeding on the Word of God,” he said.
He added that the choir’s mission remains to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ across the world through music.
“We are here to carry the name of Jesus to the ends of the earth and bring life and hope to people through our music. Our audiences should expect more music from us, as we will be releasing new songs beginning in August,” he said.
The newly-released single has already received positive feedback across social media and various music platforms. Chigumira said he hopes the song will encourage listeners to remain positive and confident in God’s promises during difficult times.
“We want people to know that positive affirmations rooted in God’s Word are powerful.
“Whatever they are going through, they should remember they are more than conquerors through Christ,” he said.
The choir is currently working on the official music video for ‘Ndiri Mukundi’, which is expected to be released soon. Looking ahead, the choir will perform at this year’s Relentless Worship 2026 at Chitungwiza Basilica Church on August 8 alongside several leading gospel artistes.
They are also preparing Sunday Live Sessions and an extended play (EP), promising gospel music lovers more inspiring releases before the end of the year.
