A United Kingdom-based Zimbabwean couple’s marriage is on the rocks and is fighting to get each other deported.
Simbarashe Simbaneuta is said to have relocated to the UK in August 2022 and facilitated for his wife, Rutendo Dzikiti, to join him in April last year.
Within three months, Simbarashe and Rutendo were at each other’s throats resulting in the husband’s arrest.
Rutendo reported Simbarashe to the police, accusing him of raping and physically assaulting her. The Simbaneuta family accuses Rutendo of trying to create grounds for Simbarashe’s deportation. A Simbaneuta family member in Zimbabwe told H-Metro that the matter has deeply divided the two families.
“We suspect that Rutendo just wants to get Simbarashe deported.
“We regret their relocation to the UK, as it has wrecked their marriage and divided the two families.
“But we just pray that justice prevails.
“Being tried in a foreign court is not easy,” said the relative.
