Weekender Correspondent
NATIONAL Gallery of Zimbabwe will today (Friday) exhibit UK-based renowned artiste Andy Goldsworth’s magnificent artworks as part of this month’s edition of the poetry-music session popularly known as Shaurai. NGZ regional director (Mutare), Elizabeth Muusha, said his works will be presented by UK-based artist Sandy Sutcliffe Milner.

It will, however, be business as usual with more than 15 performing and visual artistes from Mutare and Rusape expected to perform.

The session which was officially launched in April, in 2013, is a platform where visual and performing artistes meet and perform on a Friday of every mid-month.

“There will be a video containing Andy Goldsworth to the shown to everyone that is going to attend the session. He is one of the renowned sculptors and it is actually a privilege to have his works shown to the public.

“It will actually be an inspiration to local-based upcoming artists. We are looking forward to having a wonderful night. We also call upon all artists — new and old — to come and exhibit their products and showcase their talents,” she said.

Goldsworth is one of renowned and innovative artists in the world who does wonders with natural resources such as wood, leaves and ice. The session will certainly be one for the archives for local artists and artistes.

Kritic Igwe, David “Flexo” Mutanda, Mercy “MK47” Kaminyu are expected to be part of the event that starts at 5 pm.
