UNITED Kingdom-based gospel musician, Matildah Tekeshe, has launched her second album titled Seasons/Mwaka.
The album launch was attended by various Zimbabwean artists who helped to integrate different cultures, genres and generations into one event.
The album was greatly received by attendees and Tekeshe preached the gospel of having faith in God.
She believes that the album is a stepping stone in her music career to move forward and also revealed that she had been approached by various artists who would like to partner on future projects.
Tekeshe is open to learning from others through collaborations and exchange of notes.
Speaking to H-Metro from her base in Bedford, Tekeshe said was overwhelmed by the support she received from Zimbabweans in the diaspora.
Ministers Lionel Nkosi, Yeukai Washe, Nyaree Chanel and Nyasha Mtongwizo along with her sister, Queen Patience, graced the event.
“I am still in awe as fans travelled from all over England to witness the album launch.
“I never thought that I would be supported by fellow Zimbabwean artists who are resident in the UK, which made the whole experience a total Zimbabwean affair.
“The artists who attended my event were unique in their own way as they helped me to integrate different cultures, genres and generations into one event,” she said.
She said the album came during a very tumultuous season in her life.
“I had many thoughts of giving up, but I am grateful to God that I never gave up.
“It is truly by the grace of God that through this project I have now been approached by various artists who have seen the work that I have done and would like to partner on future projects,”
