UNITED KINGDOM based education advocate, Varaidzo Kativhu, was recently named as a Legacy Award recipient of the Diana Award.
Kativhu is an education activist, YouTuber and an author of the book Empowered, a publication in which she describes how to set life goals, take chances and overcome life’s challenges.
Kativhu is passionate about advocating for girls’ education and helping marginalised communities, with her work being recognised globally.
Through her work, she hopes to inspire and empower young girls to reach their full potential and make a positive impact in the world.
“No matter what room or palace I enter my message, mission and passion will remain the same, let girls learn.
“I received this award for my work as a girls education activist who’s on a mission to help reduce the rising number of girls out of school and I’m honoured.
“The winners are only chosen every two years and I’m one of 20 out of a choice of 500 young people from around the world. I can’t wait to keep making waves,” she said.
The Diana Award was established in 1999 and is named after the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
It honours young people who work to improve other people’s lives, and is the most prestigious prize a young person aged between nine and 25 years can receive for their social action or humanitarian work.
