UK-based fraudster on the run

POLICE are hunting a UK based Zimbabwean who allegedly defrauded a Bulawayo man of 18,900 pounds. Pasca Tapuwa Nyamweda, 35, of no fixed abode, who is on the run allegedly duped Alfred Makumbuzo into believing he was selling two Mercedes Benz ML 2010 models in March 2013.

He said he was selling the vehicles at a “giveaway price” of £18,900.

Makumbuzo paid and Nyamweda disappeared.

Bulawayo police yesterday confirmed police were “keen to interview Nyamweda in connection with the fraud case.”

He said Nyamweda who is approximately 1,7 metres tall is based in Britain but frequently travels to Zimbabwe.

“The two Mercedes Benz vehicles were to be delivered a month after payment but Nyamweda didn’t deliver as agreed,” said Inspector Moyo.

“Efforts to locate him have been fruitless hence the appeal to members of the public with information regarding his whereabouts to contact Criminal Investigating Department (CID) Bulawayo,” he said.
