TINAYE Pedzisai of Hilpaul Health Scan Clinic, who was contracted as a service provider for PSMAS members, appeared in court yesterday for making double claims involving $14 000 in 2019.
Pedzisai, who is an ultrasonographer by profession, appeared before Harare magistrate Stanford Mambanje, who released him on $500 000 bail and ordered him to surrender his travel documents.
PSMAS registered Pedzisai and his clinic to offer specialist services on its behalf.
The specialists would later claim the fees from PSMAS using various codes which differed based on the services and the sex of the patients.
It was alleged that in 2021, PSMAS conducted an audit for claims from 2015 and unearthed that Pedzisai had received undue compensation through false claims.
The State alleged that PSMAS lost $14 426 from his double claims.
