AN Umwinsdale man lost property worth nearly US$3000 to thieves on Sunday.
John Burchell, 37, said the thief used an unknown object to cut the window burglar bars to gain entry into the lounge.
He stole a Smart Samsung TV and remote, iPad, Vr plus led set, Xbox 360 console plus two remotes, Base speaker radio and a 500gb hard drive.
The thief used the same window to exit the room and went away unnoticed.
The total value of stolen property is US$2 850.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case.
Insp Chakanza also confirmed theft of valuables left in a parked car along Edinborough Road in Borrowdale.
“Lillian Rambiyano, 60, parked her silver Honda Airwave at the premises car park and proceeded to attend a graduation ceremony at the same premises.
“She came back at around 1551 hours and found out that a thief had used unknown means to open the car doors and stole an HP laptop, a laptop bag and one pair of winter shoes and went away unnoticed.
“Total value stolen is US$500 and nothing was recovered,” said Insp Chakanza.
