THE UN Women Executive Board held a dialogue yesterday with eminent Zimbabwean women who were selected for advancing gender equality and shaping conversations on inclusive growth.

The achievements of the 20 women were crystallised in a WIN Gallery Exhibition booklet and a picture and profile gallery showcased at a local hotel where the dialogue took place.

The Herald Editor, Victoria Ruzvidzo, is among the 20 extraordinary women from the fields of media, policy, finance, business, industry and activism, selected for driving transformation across Zimbabwe’s private sector. Others are Dr Divine Simbi-Ndhlukula (Securico), Clara Mlambo (BOC Gases Zimbabwe), Sibonginkosi Muteyiwa (Potraz), Jessica Chonzi (SheWearsit), Engineer Loyce Chenembiri Siziba (Cut Rag Processors), Zanele Dube (Khayah Cement Ltd), Dr Tsungai Reid (Legacy Mushrooms) and others.

The WIN Gallery Exhibition honours women who are driving transformation across Zimbabwe’s private sector and whose work is shaping national industries and contributing to global conversations on inclusive growth.

“This Exhibition brings to life the data behind the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE) baseline survey, showcasing stories of innovation, leadership, and resilience across diverse sectors — from manufacturing and construction to finance, agriculture, and media,” read part of the Exhibition report.

“These profiles reflect the progress and potential of women in business. They are also a powerful reminder that economic development is most effective when it is inclusive and that investing in women leaders is not only just but strategic.”

The WIN Gallery Exhibition list captures biographies and attributable works of the 20 women.

“It’s encouraging to see the resilience of women in Zimbabwe, and they are working tirelessly to advance gender equality and empowerment in Zimbabwe,” said Ms Nicola Clase, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sweden to the UN and President of the UN Women Executive Board.

“We are so pleased to see incredibly brilliant, talented, and resilient women using their ingenuity and platforms to drive social change.”

The UN Women Executive Board is in the country for a week-long assessment visit.

The mission aims to assess the work of UN Women at the country level to help advance gender equality in alignment with UN goals and Zimbabwe’s national development priorities.

During the visit, the board has engaged Government officials, civil society representatives, local authorities, private sector partners, the UN country team, international partners, and beneficiaries to assess UN Women’s initiatives and their impact on the ground.
