THE United States has pledged stronger trade cooperation and support for investment growth in Zimbabwe as efforts to revitalise the country’s economic landscape continue to gain momentum.

Reaffirming the principle of Zimbabwe being “a friend to all and an enemy to none”, the US reiterated its commitment to deepening trade relations with Harare as part of broader efforts to support economic renewal and attract international investment.

Speaking after a meeting with Industry and Commerce Minister Mangaliso Ndlovu at his offices in Harare yesterday, United States Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Ms Pamela Tremont, said enhancing trade between the two nations remained a top priority.

“We have built a strong working relationship with the Honourable Minister, and we are focused on ways to improve the investment environment to draw in more high-quality investors, not only from the US, but globally,” she said.

“We discussed ways to enhance the investment climate so that high-quality investors from the United States and from other countries are more attracted to Zimbabwe and can increase their investment here.”

Ambassador Tremont said trade remains a cornerstone of bilateral relations and highlighted ongoing US efforts to encourage greater business engagement with Zimbabwe.

“Trade is obviously a key component of our relationship, and we are looking forward to working together on that,” she said.
