“I don’t know where that woman stays and I never had any fling or love affair with her. I don’t know where Sydney is getting this from,” said Ndoro. In his response, Tagarira said his uncle had snatched his wife.
“I only threatened him with a bottle for his unbecoming behaviour, I didn’t hit him. It pains me that my father’s brother took my wife. Although I did not marry this woman, she is my wife because I stayed with her for the past two years,” he said.
Tagarira told the court that he caught his uncle red-handed with his girlfriend, leading to the fracas.
He added that he had since reported the matter to the police, who advised him to take his case to the Chief’s Court. “I am yet to take the matter to the Chief’s Court but at the moment I don’t have the money to do so.”
The court heard that Ndoro and his nephew stay in the same neighbourhood. Magistrate Milton Serima advised Tagarira to approach the courts for recourse if he had any problems with his uncle, rather than taking the law into his hands.
He was ordered to observe his uncle’s peace.
