ONE of Bulawayo’s underground artistes Peter Roy Charles Chester, stage name MUSE will on 8 April launch his album, The Artist which is likely to change the game in the industry.

The Artist is 15 tracks and covers themes from love, loss, among others. Singles to look out for from the album are Bird’s Eye View, Adore You and Pain.

MUSE who has had an ear for music since the age of six, described his upcoming album as a love child of the things that he has been through personally and also as an interpretation of events that he felt needed to be spoken about.

“As an artiste I’m inspired by everything that’s going on around me. I soak up everything, digest it all and come up with different concepts that I feel capture the essence of which ever event I choose to write about,” he said.

The album features South Africa-based femcee Icy Murder, Botswana-based poet Rae Lyric, Bulawayo’s Vinnie King and Hwane’s Sleek Star.

The 33-year-old, whose stage name is a direct acronym for Metro-Urban Sophisticated Entertainer said he named the album

The Artist in a bid to bring together all the elements that he believes make him an artiste.

“I write my own music. I feel the depth of my content, my presence and how I interact with an audience prior to even reciting a single bar, and my dress code distinguish me from other artistes. I feel that personally with my music, I need to take the listener on a journey. I think I’m very unique in this aspect. It makes me who I am as an artiste” he said.

The launch will be held at the Bulawayo Theatre.
