Understanding value

Matthew 16:26

6 WHAT good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

Genesis 1:26

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

From the scripture above we get an insight of value systems of creation. It gives us a rough picture of what is more important in the world. This is valuing things in the same way God does. Just like we have come to know that because of its properties, gold is more valuable than wood. Regardless of the type of wood.

In terms of the world, very few things are worth more that gold. But to a citizen of Heaven the whole earth and all that is in it is worth far less than a single human being.

Because his or her soul is exactly like God. The Bible says God made men in his own image, so when you see a human being, you must see an image of our father. No human other creature has such value. Even angles themselves do not look like God. The Bible calls them ministering spirits.

Only human beings are referred to in the Bible as made in the image of God. And only human beings are referred to as the temple of God. The Bible precisely says that what value is it to a man if he is to gain the whole world and lose his own soul.

This simply means you can collect a billion dollars every day, buy every company, buy land across all nations and own your own portion of the earth. In actual fact, you could be rich enough to buy the whole earth and make it your property, but end up in hell. It is all a waste. Because to God you have collected the useless things and lost the very thing that you should have secured first. Your soul. The world is full of shiny useless things. A beautiful gold watch of today may be regarded as ugly in a few days or years to come because a better one will come into the market.

You walk down the street and see a nice car today, yet tomorrow the future holds a better one. This is not so for the soul of a man. It has one designer and one Creator. No one else can do it. Not even the finest of the creation of Heaven. The human being is a rare product that God values. This explains why out of all creation the devil is primarily interested in human beings.

The devil became jealous of you thus desired to be worshipped as a god. In the past before the creation of a man, the devil was the most admired angel in Heaven, then he was called Lucifer.

He was like a decorated soldier, having stars and emblems to distinguish him from the rest of the troops. He began to feed off the praises other angels gave him because of his ability to sing and his beauty. This made him very proud. So proud he began to feel he was bigger than the Creator himself.

He then discovered that God was creating you. A creature whose spirit was exactly like God, so like Him that God himself says we are little gods ourselves. This made the devil very angry, coupled with him thinking he could take over the throne of God because other angles admired his ability to sing and worship.

This led him to be thrown out of Heaven. So on his fall from Heaven, the devil made it his mission to prevent us, the little gods from going to our father in Heaven. He planned to do this in two ways. The first is sin then the second was by making us think less of ourselves.

He made his agents to lie to us. He cheated Eve into disobeying God thereby causing men to sin and fall short of the glory of God. He then made human beings think less of themselves by making us overlook that we are made in the image of God.

Because he is the father of lies, his whole plan is founded on deception and lies. They lied to the whole world, and made us think that everything is far more important than souls. He made people think that all buildings, cars, jewellery and power are far more important than the human being. He lied to people on the true equation of creation.

This equation states that all things, seen and unseen, all of them combined, are less important than the human being. The whole world cannot be exchanged for a single soul. To show how important and valuable the human soul is, Jesus was more than willing to die for people even when we did not believe in him at the time he died. Because even if there was one man on earth, Jesus would still have come and died for that one man. It is called value of the property of God.

The Bible says our God has cattle on a thousand hills. Even if there was one cow on each hill, he would still be rich because there would be a thousand cattle. All those are far less than the value of a man.

After convincing us that we are useless, the devil then began to collect souls for himself. One by one he collects them every day. He does it by making religions of his own.

The truth of the matter is that anything, any belief, and religion that does not point at Jesus as salvation for mankind belongs to the devil and is taking people to hell. As mean as it sounds. It is the truth. The devil already hates you because of the mere fact that you look like God.

He does not dislike you. Dislike is an understatement. He hates you. He hates you even more when you are a hard working Christian who feeds more than his family with the knowledge of Christ. The last degree of hate in him is unleashed when you begin to tell people how valuable they are to God and how much Jesus loves them.

When you tell people that the angels stop worshipping God and throw a party the moment you say to yourself, I need to return to my Creator. The devil is not happy. Because this is the truth.

The devil does not have the ability to create that we have. He does not have the ability to create his own children like God has. As you read this, imagine all the cities you have been to. All the towns you have seen on tv.

All the new gadgets that we use, phone, cars, stoves. Even the things that float around in your imagination. That is the creativity of a man put in him by his creative Father — God himself. It is our DNA to create. If you can dream it, you can create it.

For this reason the devil is trying hard to draft as many people into his kingdom. It is also for this reason we should have the Godly chill to see the importance of evangelism and soul winning, everywhere we go let us win souls for Christ, despite them being hostile sometimes, keep going at them until they become soul winner themselves.

When we do this we populate Heaven and God promised us, he is with us when we win souls for him. Focus on what is important. The human being is a valuable property of God. You are loved deeply by God.
